Williams, 19, wanted for murder, being held with out bond

One of two suspects being sought in connection with the shooting death of two people and injuries to a third turned himself in to police Saturday and while admitting knowledge of the incident, denied firing any shots himself.

Following a court hearing Monday, Jayvion Williams, 19, will be held without bond pending the filing of formal charges of two counts of capital murder, one count of first-degree battery, multiple counts of committing a terroristic act, theft by receiving and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.

Williams and Trent Rogers, who is still at large, were being sought following a shooting on July 16 at 2303 W. 17th. When police arrived, they found a black male dead in the yard and when they went inside, found a juvenile female lying on a couch and another male in a bedroom. The juvenile was dead and the second male was taken to Jefferson Regional hospital.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Corey Wilfong, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed told the court what police learned about what happened.

Police learned that the Camaro had been reported stolen in Texas and had originally been red but had been spray painted black.

Police obtained video from Southeast Arkansas College which showed the charger pass the house three times before a backseat passenger fired multiple shots at the house. Both Moten and Tippy denied any knowledge of the incident. Police identified Williams and Rogers and went to their residences but neither could be located

On Saturday, Williams turned himself in and was questioned by police.
