A $10,000 cash only bond was set Tuesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of pointing a gun at his former girlfriend and threatening to kill her.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jalon Mumprey, 24, with second offense third-degree domestic battery and terroristic threatening.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Corey Wilfong, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said on Friday at 5:20 p.m., police responded to a reported armed disturbance at an apartment complex on South Camden Road.

Akel said police reported seeing swelling to the left side of the victim’s face.

A criminal history check showed that Mumprey has a pending charge of theft by receiving a firearm and he was convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery in Feb. 2024.

Mumprey was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court May 20.
