A $75,000 bond was set Mondy for a man accused of trying to break into a house in the early morning hours Saturday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jared Barth, 33, with aggravated residential burglary and criminal mischief.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Dante Nicholson, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said at 2:47 a.m. police were sent to a house on South Cherry Street in response to a reported shooting.

Nicholson reported that at 3:20 a.m., while officers were still at the house, they received a report of a window that had been broken at Church’s Chicken on Cherry Street.

Akel said Barth had no prior convictions or pending charges and he was told to come back to Court May 17.
