A $10,000 bond was set Wednesday for a White Hall man previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery after he was arrested on a new allegation Monday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond for Larry Hankins, 54, after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Hankins with second offense third-degree domestic battery, a felony.

Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel told the court that Hankins had previously been convicted of domestic battery in 2019.

Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Ryan Edwards, Akel said at 4:30 p.m. Monday, police were sent to the Shell Gas Station on Dollarway Road in response to a reported domestic disturbance.

Hankins was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Sept. 5.
