Two Pine Bluff teenagers were arrested Tuesday after they allegedly fired shots at two other individuals.

Corey McGowan, 18, and Archillias Glover, 19, were taken into custody when police vice and narcotics officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle McGowan was driving.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Dante Nicholson, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said at 2:10 p.m., police were sent to 10th Avenue and Hazel Street in response to a report of a shootout behind Chester Hynes Community Center that was being operated as a day care.

Glover and McGowan were taken to the Detective Office for questioning. Glover refused to make a statement and McGowan said he shot at the men because of an unreported incident earlier in the day.

Akel said Glover is currently out on bond on a manslaughter charge and because of that, Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $150,000 cash only bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and unauthorized use of property to facilitate a crime.

A $150,000 secured bond was set for McGowan on the same allegations and both men were told to come back to court May 1.
