The second suspect in a double homicide that occurred July 16 turned himself in to police Wednesday and made his first appearance in court Friday.

Trenton Rogers, 19, will be held without bond after Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with two counts of capital murder, one count of first-degree battery, 1 counts of committing a terroristic act and one count of discharging a firearm from a vehicle.

Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said the allegations stem from a reported shooting at 17th Avenue and Hazel Street. When officers arrived, they found a black male juvenile unresponsive. Inside the house, they found a black female juvenile who was also unresponsive and both were pronounced dead. A third victim, a male had also been shot and was taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital for treatment.

West said detectives obtained security video from WalMart which showed two young black males and one black female buying the spray paint.

Rogers was ordered to have no contact with the surviving victim until the case is settled and told to come back to court Sept. 21. He said he would hire his own attorney.
