UPDATE 5:25 AM: Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley has identified the victim as 22-year-old DeMarcuz L. Scott.
Scott was pronounced deceased at 11:18 p.m. by Kelley due to multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Kelley said that Scott’s body will be sent to the State Crime Lab on Thursday.

A shooting outside an apartment complex has left one man dead.
Officers were called to a shooting at the Regency Arms Apartments at about 10:50 p.m. on the evening of January 4th, 2023 in reference to a shooting. When they arrived they found one male victim on the ground with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim is known but is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.
The body is being sent to the state crime lab to determine official cause and manner of death.

This is the first homicide of 2023 in Pine Bluff. It is also the first homicide in Pine Bluff since September 14, 2022.
