A Pine Bluff man was arrested Saturday after he was involved in a physical altercation with the mother of his child.

Garyl Allen, 36, was taken into custody after police were sent to 1301 S. Oak St., at 4:38 p.m. in response to a reported domestic disturbance.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Laquincia Smith, Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff told the court what police found.

McGriff said police also talked to Allen who admitted he had “roughed up” the victim.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $5,000 bond for Allen, who McGriff said had no prior convictions, after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault on a family or household member. He was ordered to have no contact  with the victim and told to come back to court June 4.
