A $50,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man accused of breaking into a house ,stealing a television and other items, and also stealing a truck that was outside the house.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Quenshun Davis, 31, with theft of property, theft by receiving and possession of a controlled substance.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Mike Merritt, Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff said at 11:15 a.m. Friday, police were sent to 205 N. Peach St., in response to a reported burglary.

The victim told officers that he had last been at the residence Thursday and was in the process of moving in. He said he found the front door kicked open and a 65-inch television, riding lawn mower and tools missing.

McGriff said the truck owner was out searching for it when he saw it at Saracen Landing with Davis behind the wheel. He said he told Davis the police had been called and Davis took off running.

McGriff said Davis has prior felony convictions and he was told to come back to court June 4.
