A $20,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man accused of fleeing from Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies Friday and having drugs in his possession when he was arrested.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Leroy Tyler Jr., 51, with felony fleeing and possession of controlled substance cocaine.

Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King told the court the events that led to the arrest.

King said Tyler has had five prior felony convictions, one for a violent offense and one on drug-related charges. He was ordered to come back to court Feb. 1.
