A Pine Bluff man previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery will have to post a $5,000 bond to be released from the adult detention center after he was arrested for the same charge Saturday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Eric Savage, 47, with second offense third-degree domestic battery, a felony.

Reading from an affidavit by police Detective Corey Wilfong, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said at 5:41 p.m., police were sent to a reported domestic disturbance on Hutchinson Street.

Akel said court records showed Savage was convicted of the misdemeanor offense on June 1, 2021.

On Monday, Pine Bluff District Jude John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Savage’s wife, Althea, on second offense third-degree domestic battery. The couple were each ordered to have no contact with the other until the case is settled.
