One person was killed and a second injured in a one-vehicle accident in Cleveland County Friday night.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, Ashlyn N. Harris, 20, of Rison died when the vehicle she was riding in left the roadway on U.S. 63 at Woodlawn and began overturning, ejecting her.
The vehicle, a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu came to rest on its top in the northbound ditch.
The driver of the vehicle, Matthew S. Barnard, 19, of White Hall was injured and taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital for treatment.
The accident was reported at 9:56 p.m. and the death was the 358th so far this year on the state’s highways.
