It has been several days since most Jefferson County employees received  their paychecks following a dispute between County Judge Gerald Robinson and County Clerk Shawndra Taggart after Robinson instructed Taggart to hold the checks of two employees and she said no.

Appearing on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show Monday, Robinson said he had issued a court order to Taggart to do that.

“Ms. Taggart obviously didn’t think so,” Morning Show host Greg Horne said.

In an email from Whitmore to Robinson, Whitmore said “…lots of folks are thinking the county judge has denied the payroll of the 100 plus county employees (when in fact the county court order should demonstrate the fact that he has approved and directed the payment of their payroll and only disputed and denied the payroll of two county employees.”

Later in the interview, Robinson said this.
