Two brothers from Altheimer who were arrested Monday will be held without bond while prosecutors prepare murder charges against them.

Gregory McGown, 19, and Javreon McGown, 21, were identified as suspects in the Saturday shooting death of Ryan Wear, 30, who was found inside a parked vehicle on the parking lot of Dollar Tree at 2907 E. Harding Ave. on Saturday with a gunshot wound to the head and taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital where he died.

During a court hearing Wednesday, Depuy Prosecutor Joe West said witnesses reported seeing a heavy-set black male later identified as Julius Ford get out of a older model white SUV and get into the victim’s vehicle. A single shell casing was found on the passenger side floorboard of that vehicle.

Detective Corey Wilfong that investigators determined that the white vehicle was a Hyundai, and it was located in Altheimer. Officers were also able to place the two brothers and Ford in that vehicle.

Ford was arrested Tuesday night and brought back to Pine Bluff. He is expected to appear for a court hearing Thursday.

Both Gregory and Javreon McGown said they would hire attorneys and were told to come back to court Sept. 19.
