A Pine Bluff man currently on parole and a registered sex offender were arrested Wednesday after he allegedly admitted to watching child pornography on his phone.

Samuel Thorne, 30, is a Level 2 sex offender who was convicted of second-degree sexual assault in 2013 when he was 20-years-old, Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King said during a court hearing Friday.

King said Detective Keith Banks received a phone call at about 1 p.m. reporting Thorne was watching child pornography and Thorne was interviewed at the probation and parole office at 2801 S. Olive St.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $15,000 bond for Thorne after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with computer child pornography and failure to comply with sex offender regulations.

Thorne will also be held on a parole hold pending a hearing to determine if he should be sent back to prison to complete his sentence.
