A police investigation into the shooting death of a teenager on July 15 has resulted in the arrest of another suspect.

When he was questioned, TaCorie Mackenzie denied any involvement in the incident, and denied knowing either the victim or other suspects who have been arrested.

During a court hearing Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said police responded to a reported shooting at 3604 W. Greenway Drive where they found a man later identified as Archillias Glover with gunshot wounds. He told police he had been walking to the store when someone started shooting at him and he ran. He was taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital for treatment.

Carson said police took a statement from Glover and she told the court what Glover said.

Mackenzie will be held without bond after Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth ruled Monday prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with capital murder, first-degree battery and being a juvenile in possession of a firearm.
