Gould man accused of capital murder held without bond

A Gould man accused of being involved in a shooting Sunday on the east side of Pine Bluff will be held without bond while prosecutors prepare formal charges against him.

Following a court hearing Wednesday, Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge Donovan Cuthbertson, 24, with capital murder, criminal attempt capital murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said the charges relate to a shooting in the 1800 block of Belmoor Drive and when officers arrived, they found a black Toyota Avelon with a male and female inside who had both been shot.

Police identified the victims as Hussain Ahmed, 30, who is listed in critical condition and Rachel Crouch, 33, who died at the hospital)

West said Redfield Police provided information about Cuthbertson’s location and on Monday, Pine Bluff officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle where Cuthbertson was a passenger.

Little Rock attorney Alex Morpus of the Bill James law firm will represent Cuthbertson who was ordered to have no contact with the male victim until the case is settled. He was told to come back to court Oct. 30..
