A $5,000 cash-only bond was set Tuesday for a Pine Bluff man previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery after he was accused of another incident.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Lekevious Hawkins, 28, with second offense third-degree domestic battery, a felony.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective Keith Banks, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said on Saturday, police were sent to West 33rd Avenue in response to a reported disturbance and found the victim at 33rd Avenue and Olive Street.

Carson said Hawkins has two cases pending in circuit court and an alias warrant has been issued on one of them. He posted a bond on the other case last month.

He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and said he would hire his own attorney.
