The Pine Bluff Advertising and Promotion Commission recently announced that it had distributed almost $1.5 million that came from the so-called hamburger tax to the Convention Center and to various groups and organizations.

Appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show Friday, A&P Director Sheri Storie talked about the money.

Asked about the delay, Storie the biggest issue was the amount of money that would go to the convention center and the commission came to a consensus to provide $1.128 million to the center for this year.

The overall A&P budget is $1.8 million which Storie said includes money for its operation.

Morning show host Greg Horne asked Storie what groups and organizations received money for this year.

She went on to say that making the decision on who would get funded was difficult.

Currently, the seven-member Advertising and Promotion Commission makes the decision on who gets funded and how much and Storie said not every group received the same amount.
