A Pine Bluff man was arrested Wednesday after he picked up a package containing suspected marijuana that had been shipped from out of state,

Bruce Rollins Jr., 26, was taken into custody after he was seen picking up the package and putting it into a vehicle.

During a court hearing Thursday, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Tri-County Drug Task Force Investigators were notified by special agents from Homeland Security that a package was to be delivered to 7216 Princeton Pike in White Hall.

Carson said when Rollins was questioned, he said he no longer lived at the house on Princeton Pike but still collects his mail there.

Following a traffic stop, investigators found mail with Rollins’ name and address on it, a Glock nine-millimeter handgun with one round in the chamber and 16 in the magazine.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $100,000 bond for Rollins after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.

He was told to come back to court Feb. 8.
