A vehicle that had been reported stolen in Stuttgart was recovered by Pine Bluff Police Friday and a man who was found in the driver’s seat was taken into custody.

According to a probable cause affidavit presented in court Mondy, police found the car, a 2o18 Hyundai Sonata in the parking lot of the Old Huddle House at 3101 Market Street at 2:09 p.m. and Raymond Chastain behind the wheel of the vehicle.

Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff explained what police found when they arrived.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $5,000 bond for Chastain, who McGriff said had no prior convictions or pending charges, after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with theft by receiving. He was told to come back to court Feb. 16.
