A $50k bond was set for a Pine Bluff man being charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm

A $50,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man previously convicted of felonies who was arrested Saturday after police found a gun in a car the man had ben driving.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Corey McDowell, 36, with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Reading from an affidavit from Pine Bluff Police Detective Sgt. Chris Wieland, Deput Prosecutor Lisa McGriff explained the allegation against McDowell.

McGriff said McDowell has prior convictions in 2007 and 2008 got residential burglary and aggravated assault.

He was told to come back to court April 1.
