A $50,000 bond was set Thursday for a man accused of breaking into several mini-storage units in Pine Bluff.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Fredrick Bowser with five counts of breaking or entering.

Reading from an affidavit by Pine Bluff Police Detective Mike Merritt, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said police were sent to Purnell’s Mini-Storage on West 28th Avenue in response to five storage units being broken into.

West said police found tools in the vehicle and when Bowser was questioned, he admitted being at the storage units but denied breaking into them.

He said Bowser has multiple prior felony convictions, is on parole and an absconder, and a Level 2 sex offender. Bowser was told to come back to court Feb. 29.
