A $10,000 cash only bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff woman accused of spitting in the face of a jail deputy and biting the deputies hand.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge LaQuita Fudge, 34, with second-degree battery and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

Reading from an affidavit by Sheriff’s Lt. Terry Wingard, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, sheriff’s deputies were sent to the adult jail to assist Pine Bluff Police with Fudge, who had been arrested for battery and active warrants.

Akel said Fudge has prior convictions for terroristic threatening and aggravated assault and five counts of terroristic threatening.

She was told to come back to court May 2.
