A $100,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man currently on parole who allegedly escaped from police custody after being arrested on Monday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Danny Battles with second-degree escape.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Sgt. Keith Banks, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said Officer Ryan Edwards was sent to 11th Avenue Monday in reference to a reported protection order violation.

West said Battles is on parole after convictions for residential burglary and commercial burglary. He was told to come back to court Feb. 21.
