A Pine Bluff man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly attempted to burn his house down.

David Church, 67, was taken into custody after police responded to a house on South Fir Street at about 2 a.m. in response to a reported domestic disturbance.

During a court hearing Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson explained what police were told.

Carson said Church has pending drug related and hot check charges.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $50,000 bond for Church after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault on a family or household member.

He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Dec. 21.
