A $5,000 bond was set Friday for a man arrested on drug and weapons charges Wednesday.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Brian Jeffery with possession of a controlled substance with the purpose to deliver and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.
Deputy Prosecutor Jay Gerard said during a court hearing Thursday that Jeffery was arrested after a White Hall Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a Red Kia for a defective headlight and the officer smelled an odor of marijuana when he approached the vehicle.
When Jeffery was searched, the officer found another multi-colored Ecstasy pill in Jeffery’s pants pocket.
Jeffery said he would hire his own attorney.
