A six-month old infant was taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital with severe burns and Sunday and her parents and grandmother were arrested in connection with the incident.

During a court hearing Tuesday, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander said the parents, Rodney Howard, 19 and Cednya Bailey Howard, 18, and the grandmother, Tameka Bailey, 41, were taken into custody after police responded to a house on South elm Street to assist with an ambulance call.

Detective Mike Merritt reported that the parents and grandmother were read their rights and Alexander said the father of the infant made a statement.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a bond of $25,000 for each of the three after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge them with endangering the welfare of a minor. Rodney Howard is also charged with first-degree domestic battery. All three said they would hire their own attorneys.
