A $25,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man accused of helping an escapee from the Jefferson County Detention Center last week.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Derrick Bryant with hindering apprehension or prosecution.

Bryant was taken into custody during the search for Noah Roush, who was being held on burglary and theft charges and was arrested Thursday near 19th Avenue and Plum Street.

Reading from an affidavit by Sheriff’s Sgt. Dennis Kendall, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West explained the details of charge against Bryant.

Bryant was told to come back to court Feb. 23.
