A $25,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Michael Copeland, 22, with theft by receiving.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed said Copeland was arrested by Arkansas State Trooper Quincy Harris.

Reed said reports from Little Rock showed that the license plate was stolen on Oct. 26, and the car a few hours later on the same day. The vehicle was valued at more than $25,000.

Copeland said he would hire his own attorney and was told to come back to court December 27.
