A high-speed chase by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday resulted in the arrest of a man who currently has pending charges and is accused of failing to appear in court on them.

During a court hearing Friday, Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King said a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a Chevrolet Camero driven by Jeffery Taylor, 43, that was clocked on the radar as traveling 70 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone on Sulphur Springs Road.

King said White has a prior conviction for criminal use of a prohibited weapon in 2017 and alias warrants after he failed to appear in circuit court for hearings.

Because of the pending charges, Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $20,000 cash-only bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Taylor with felony fleeing. He will not however be able to post that bond because of the alias bench warrants.
