A $10,000 bond was set Thursday for a Pine Bluff man accused of pointing a gun at another man during an altercation Tuesday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Dwight Shelton, 42, with aggravated assault.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Brittany Akel said at about 8:30 p.m., police were sent to a reported domestic disturbance at a house in the 300 block of West 24th Avenue.

The male victim said he had gone to the house where he got into an altercation with his former girlfriend and with Shelton, who is related to the female.

Akel said police spoke to a witness to the incident who reported what they saw.

Shelton was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled and told to come back to court Aug. 8.
