A $10,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man accused of breaking into a house at White Hall Wednesday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Eric Jackson, 45, with commercial burglary.

Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Ryan Edwards, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Karres Manning said at about 9 a.m., White Hall Police were sent to a reported home invasion at 1201 Robin Road.

Manning said police found a back window open and a chair under the window. When Jackson was questioned, he claimed that he owned the home but police determined that he did not.

She said Jackson had been arrested on a battery charge in 2002and theft by receiving in 2008 and he was found not guilty because of mental disease or defect on both of them.

He was told to come back to court Nov. 15 and said he would hire his own attorney.
