On Tuesday, William Fells III, who had worked in the Office of Mayor Shirley Washington for almost four years announced that he would be a candidate for the Ward 3 City Council seat currently held by Council Member Glen Brown Sr., in the 2024 March Primary.

Appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show Wednesday, Fells was asked why he decided to run.

A graduate of Ridgway Christian High School in 2015, Fells graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. in 2018 as a political science major and while in college, served as a page for former U.S. Senator Mark Pryor and did an internship at the U.S. Justice Department during the Obama administration.

Morning show host Greg Horne said Fells talked about seeking investors and asked if Fells agreed that he is the opposite of Brown Sr.

Horne also pointed out Fells’ age.
