Two students at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff were arrested by campus police after they found guns in their rooms.

Xavier White, 20, from Memphis was taken into custody during an investigation into a stolen bag and Kenneth Fitzgerald, 21, of Dumas was being questioned about non-related reports when the gun was found, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said during court hearings Wednesday.

West explained the allegation against White during the hearing.

In a second hearing, West told the court the circumstances that led to the arrest of Fitzgerald.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge White and Fitzgerald with possession of a handgun on school property. Bond for White was set at $10,000 and for Fitzgerald at $5.000. Both were told to come back to court April 30.
