McGehee Police have arrested two suspects in connection to vandalism at a local school
last week.
According to Criminal Investigator Mark Allen with the McGehee Police Department, at 5:57 a.m. last Friday morning, Officer Hector Ramos was dispatched to McGehee High School in reference to a break-in. Police said a school employee informed authorities someone had entered the school during the night, dumped school supplies, flipped over tables and chairs, discharged two fire extinguishers, and written a message on a wall that said, “This is for Bear.”
Police said that surveillance video showed two subjects with their faces covered inside
the school and that the two were identified by family members and school employees.
Authorities said the two suspects, identified as 22-year-old Nathan Smith
and 23-year-old Christopher Lamb, turned themselves in to police and admitted to entering the school through an open window and to being under the influence of alcohol
at the time.
Both suspects were charged with commercial burglary and criminal mischief and are currently out on a $2,500 bond.
