Two minors were charged with capital murder after an apparent shooting that left a 17-year-old dead at the scene earlier this month.

Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson read from the affidavit submitted by Detective Keith Banks who stated that on June 9th police were dispatched to North Hazel St. and West Havis Avenue in regards to a reported shooting.

Carson went on to say that BOLOs were issued for Kiara White and Otis Tyler and explained what happened when White was interviewed with her mother present.

The driver was also interviewed and changed his statement.

Tyler was interviewed but invoked his right to an attorney.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge both Tyler and White with Capitol Murder without bond. Both juveniles were told to return to court on July 18th and the public defender’s office was appointed to represent them.
