Homecoming activities at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff began Sunday and will continue thorough out the week, culminating with the football game Saturday, followed by parties and gatherings at a number of locations.

While last year was quiet, there were several shootings and other incidents that occurred the year before that and Police Chief Denise Richardson was asked how the department was preparing for the events this year.

Richardson went on to say this.

Morning show host Greg Horne said that a lot of people who plan events hire private security but a couple of years ago, there was an event where private security was not hired, and police did not know about it. There was a shooting at that event.
