A Pine Bluff man arrested was arrested Sunday after slapping his pregnant girlfriend in the face during an altercation.

Trevion Trice, 22, will have to post a $2,500 bond to be released from the adult detention center after Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge Trice with felony domestic battery.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective Chris Wieland, Deputy Prosecutor Caleb Conrad said an officer was sent to a residence in the 1000 block of West 22nd Sunday morning where the victim said her boyfriend had slapped her.

Conrad said the officer reported seeing injuries to the victim’s face.

Trice was read his rights and agreed to make a statement. He said he was on the phone with a friend when his girlfriend began to yell at him. He said he yelled back, then walked over to her side of the bed to talk to her. He said she began kicking at him and he slapped her in the face. He also said he knew she was pregnant.

Trice said he would hire his own attorney and was ordered to have no contact with the victim. He was told to come back to court on June 7.
