A Pine Bluff man was ordered held on a $50,000 cash bond during a recent court appearance after being formally charged with methamphetamine-related offenses.
During the hearing, the court advised Rickey Trantham that he has been charged by criminal information with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the charges read in court by Pine Bluff District Judge Kim Bridgforth, prosecutors allege that on or about March 5 in Jefferson County, Trantham unlawfully possessed methamphetamine with the intent to deliver the controlled substance. Authorities also allege that he possessed drug paraphernalia, specifically digital scales, that were intended for use in weighing, packaging or distributing methamphetamine.
During the proceeding, the court also noted that prosecutors allege Trantham has previously been convicted of four or more felonies and could face enhanced penalties under Arkansas law if convicted.
Court records indicate Circuit Judge Alex Guynn previously set bond at $50,000 cash. The court also confirmed that a public defender has been appointed to represent Trantham.
