As work continues cutting trees in northern Jefferson County to build a new road into the site of a proposed plant that will convert natural gas into liquid fuel, Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson is confident that the plant will happen.

Appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show Wednesday, Robinson said officials from the company are expected to make an announcement the third week of September about the plant.

Robinson said the company is talking about up to 2,500 construction workers for a period of years to actually build the plant.

On another subject, Robinson was asked about work that is currently taking place on the Martha Mitchell Expressway.

He said he does not know a time frame for when the work will be.
