Jefferson County employees who were looking forward to getting bonuses for Christmas are crossing their fingers and hoping that members of the Quorum Court will break the impasse that currently exists and approve their bonuses.

A meeting of the County’s legislative body that took place Monday night ended the same way meetings for the past few months have, with eight members refusing to approve legislation proposed by County Judge Gerald Robinson. This time, that legislation included bonuses for employees.

After the meeting, Robinson had this to say.

Robinson went on to say this about Franklin, who has led the insurrection.

Robinson described the actions of those eight JP’s as “a disgrace”.

A special called meeting of the Quorum Court is currently set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday with the finance committee to go first, followed by the full court.
