On November 1, 2023, just after 1:00 AM, Officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to 1105 E. 26th Ave., St. John Apartments, for a reported shooting. On arrival the officers found a male with apparent gunshots wound lying in the parking lot near the southeast corner of the apartment complex. The victim, identified as 21-year-old Cedric Hawkins, was unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the scene by Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelly.
This homicide is still in the early stages of the investigation at the time of this release. There is no suspect information to release at this time.
