Thelma Walker
Former Pine Bluff City Council member Thelma Walker died Aug. 4, according to an announcement from Brown Funeral Home.
Walker, 82, represented Ward 1 and served on the council until 2016 when she was defeated in a run-off by Joni Alexander.
Her son, Danny Walker was a candidate for her former seat representing Ward 1 in the 2020 election after Alexander chose not to serve a second term and lost in a run-off to current Ward 1 council member LaTisha Brunson. He currently is a member of the Planning Commission.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home.
