A White Hall man arrested by Pine Bluff Police Thursday will be held without bond while prosecutors prepare murder charges against him.

Following a court hearing Friday, District Judge John Kearney ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge Steven Peterson, 41, with capital murder.

Peterson is accused in the shooting death of Willie Purifoy, 43, whose body was found inside a house at 2702 S. Ash St., after police responded to a reported shooting at 12::48 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Sgt. Keith Banks, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel explained the allegation against Peterson.

Peterson was told to come back to court April 19.
