A Kingsland woman was arrested in the early morning hours Thursday on a drug related charge.

Shelly Manes, 40, was taken into custody by White Hall Officer Charles Treadway who submitted an affidavit read in court by Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel Friday morning.

Akel said Manes has no prior convictions or pending charges.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $5,000 bond for Manes after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with possession of a controlled substance. She was told to come back to court April 12.
