A $50,000 bond was set Tuesday for a Jefferson County man currently on probation who allegedly hit his girlfriend, knocking her down and busting her lip.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Ladarius Hill, 31, with second-offense third-degree domestic battery, a felony.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Mike Merritt, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said at 6:50 p.m. Friday, police were sent to a house on Betty Street in response to a reported domestic disturbance.

Carson said Hill has a previous conviction for third-degree domestic battery on Sept. 3, 2021 and was placed on probation for domestic battery.

He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court May 13.
