A White Hall man currently on parole was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into an alleged burglary at theft at the Big Red Travel Plaza at White Hall on Tuesday.

David Buck, 36, allegedly admitted going into the office at the business, taking $15,000 from a safe, and a DVR and video tapes. Buck was a former manager of the business.

During a court hearing Thursday, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West read from an affidavit by White Hall Police Sgt. Clayton Cantrell.

Cantrell reported that the woman on the security video was identified, and he interviewed her.

West said when Buck was interviewed, he allegedly admitted entering the office using a key, taking the cash and DVR equipment, then leaving the business. He has prior felony convictions in Washington and Craighead Counties and is listed as a parole absconder.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $50,000 bond for Buck after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with commercial burglary, breaking or entering and theft of property.

He said he would hire his own attorney and was told to come back to court Jan. 29.
