A $500,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man accused of shooting another man Friday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Demetrius Eason, 31, with first-degree battery and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Deputy Prosecutor Keith Hall said on Friday, police were sent to Jefferson Regional Hospital where a gunshot victim had been brought into the Emergency Room.

Hall said Eason has more than four prior felony convictions. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court May 10.
