A Little Rock man was arrested Friday after he admitted stealing a wallet containing credit card from a parked vehicle, then using the cards to buy gift cards.

Reginald Briggs, 25, was taken into custody after Little Rock Police stopped a car that matched the description of one seen at the site of the theft and at Wal Mart where the gift cards were bought.

During a court hearing Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff said at 5 p.m. Thursday, White Hall Police were sent to a residence to investigate a report that a car had been broken into and a wallet stolen.

White Hall Police Officer Charles Treadway reported that the license plate on the car returned to a Little Rock woman.

McGriff said Briggs has prior convictions in Pulaski County for robbery, theft by receiving and assault.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $25,000 bond for Briggs after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with breaking or entering, theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit or debit card. He was told to come back to court May 10.
